We decided to take a Road trip to Las Vegas for Raed’s birthday. Raed’s been going into work during this entire pandemic and I’ve been pretty much stuck in the house since March, so we really felt like we needed it. Going in the car was the best/ safest way that we saw for us and for baby Mila. It’s a 4 hour drive so I knew I had to be prepared for what’s to come. Over all it went SO smooth! Here’s what we did to make it easier on her and us:
+ Left closer to bedtime: We decided to go at night because mila will just fall asleep for the longest stretch.
+ Fed her and burped her right before we took off.
+ Stimulated her with toys and songs to get her a little worked up.
+ We stopped for gas and during that time I changed her diaper and fed her a bit more.
+ As soon as we took off again I turned on the white noise super loud (annoying for us but whatever) this is what I use in the car click here
+ Pacifier is key! Honestly I don’t know what we would have done without the pacifier and not just in the car but in our daily life in general. It helps her soothe and knock out right away. Click here for the paci Mila loves.
+ I put a Muslin swaddle on top of the car seat to block out her view of me or the cars etc and left some holes in the side for air.
And that’s it, she slept the ENTIRE drive. The only annoying part was that we had to listen to white noise the entire drive and every time Raed would talk to me I was have to say “HUH?” And he would have to repeat himself so I could hear him 😂
We checked in and she stayed asleep the entire time. Did my usual dream feed at 12 and she slept till 8am! #winning

Love the little details. The several pacifiers we went through were lifesavers! It’s good to get out after such a long term stay at home. Be safe❤️
